Top tips for your dental health

Brush your teeth for 2 minutes before bed and at least at one other time in the
day

If you have been advised to, use Easypicks or Tepe brushes to clean between
your teeth at least once a day

Reduce the amount of sugar you eat (including in drinks): ideally keep sugar
just to meal times

Use a good quality toothpaste with at least 1450ppm of fluoride. (Locally, this
may not apply to young children living in Alsager where the water is
fluoridated- talk to your dentist first.)

When finished, spit the excess out but don’t rinse your mouth. It is good for
the fluoride to stay on your teeth.

If you want to use a mouthwash then don’t use it at the same time as brushing
your teeth… it washes all the fluoride away!

Help your child clean their teeth to the age of 8 years
